How to Look Fabulous in Photos – Every Single Time!

by

It can be so frustrating – your friend posts a pic on Insta or FB and she looks fabulous and you – well – you were caught at the wrong angle or closing your eyes. Damn! And you KNOW you looked super-hot that day!

There are tricks that you can use to look fabulous EVERY TIME! And it’s worth knowing about, because those pics are around for a LOOOOONG time!

Eyes Right

Your eyes are often the focal point of the picture – you want them open, sparkly and full of character! If you tend to close your eyes in photos, try closing them before the pic is taken, then open slowly, and wide. The more open your eyes are, the more light will hit, and they’ll twinkle beautifully! Your eyes will pop if they are neatly framed – curled eyelashes and a good mascara are a must!

Helena Rubenstein Lash Queen Mascara Feline Blacks (Waterproof) in Deep Black is great for photographs! It’s enriched with ULTRA-BLACK pigments for intensely captivating eyes. This luxurious mascara to helps maximize length & volume of your lashes. It’s packaged in a cool leopard print design with a brush featuring anti-clogging bristles. Precisely tames lashes for an intense volume without clumping.

Be sure to fill in brows too, as they frame face and really make all your features pop in photos.

Work It, Baby!

OK, it may feel a little awkward, but try to elongate your neck and push your face forward a bit, with chin slightly down. It looks great – just don’t exaggerate the tilt too much! When you smile, put your tongue behind your teeth, it stops your smile going all wide and goofy! Turning your head ¾ to the camera instead of full on is also flattering and gives your features depth. Whew, I know it sounds like a lot to remember – practice makes perfect!

Photo Ready Makeup

Make sure your foundation matches your skin tone well. If your foundation is too light, the flash will wash you out. Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation delivers undetectable coverage and a fresh, hydrated glow for the most natural skin-like finish with this water-based, oil-free formula. In addition to weightless, long-wearing coverage and hydration, the formula minimizes the appearance of pores, conceals imperfections, and delivers broad spectrum UV protection. Infused with Titanium and light-reflective optic ingredients, it creates glowy and watery skin with a buildable formula that goes easily from light to medium coverage and is available in wide range of shades for all skin tones.

Always wear blush when you are being photographed for face sculpting and healthy color. Oh, and another trick – instead of using cakey powder, blot your forehead and chin with a paper napkin before the photos are taken, to minimise shiny spots.

Some Lighting and Angling Tips

If you can, stand in front of a white wall or light background – this helps the camera get the right color balance and your skin will look natural and true to its own tone. Facing a natural light source gives the most flattering effect. And a photo taken from just above you is much more flattering than from below. So, if you’re taller than the photographer, consider taking a seat!

Looking fabulous, honey! Mwah!
