Love Season: Wedding Makeup Inspirations

by

Every bride wants to look and feel their best on their wedding day, and choosing the perfect makeup can sometimes be a bit overwhelming. So many options, so much to think about! But rule No. 1? R-E-L-A-X, breathe and break it down until you know what YOUR perfect look will be!

You will need to create a makeup look that suits you. Suits your personality, your skin tone and coloring and the overall “feel” and look of your wedding theme – natural, sophisticated, romantic? Just starting with that information will give you a LOT to go on.

Remember the Cameras!

One rule, however, is that it is best to steer clear of very trendy, high fashion looks from the catwalk that are currently “in”. You will be photographed extensively, and the pics will be around for a very long time, so you don’t want your makeup look to date. You also don’t want to create a look that is far off from your everyday look and personality – it must be YOU – looking your exquisite best on your dream wedding day!

Stay Ahead with Your Preparation!

Whatever you choose, be sure to schedule a makeup trial before the wedding day so that you and your makeup artist will be on the same page and you won’t feel stressed or worried on the day.

Get Pinspired!!

One of the best ways to get inspiration is to browse Pinterest and bridal sites and find a look that you love, on someone with a similar coloring and style to yours.

Fail-Proof Looks

One look that never fails: radiant skin, rosy cheeks, flushed lips, and some definition on the eyes. Using a gel eyeliner, work it into the base of your lashes, and then apply it to the upper waterline. It gives you intensity without looking overdone or needing a ton of eye shadow. Plus, the wide-eyed effect is really dreamy.

Another classic? Smokey eyes and red lips will enhance your facial features, look amazing in your photographs. It is also so classic that your wedding look will never date! Ditto for a natural, soft, romantic look with pink blush that brightens skin tone.

Get Glowy, Not Shiny, Skin

Luminous skin looks ethereal, but you don’t want a strobe-light effect across your face in photos. To control shine, dust translucent powder across the forehead, sides of the nose, and on the chin with a powder puff. Then apply a soft, shimmery highlighter to just the temples and tops of cheekbones. To brighten eyes, you can also dab the highlighter on the inner corners and under the brow bone for a sheer, natural look.

And to keep you looking relaxed and radiant on your big day, we’ve compiled an awesome wedding timeline guide, so you’ll know exactly what to do, and when. Let’s all breathe a sigh of relief – it’s coming up next!
